Updates for Our Customers operating in Finland
New Tax Reference for Limited Companies, Corporate Entities and Partnerships
The Finnish Tax Administration has introduced a new tax reference number for limited companies as well as other corporate entities and partnerships.
We will update the new tax reference details for our customers in our systems during spring 2026.
At this stage, the new tax reference does not apply to sole traders.
Please note:
- Both the old and the new tax references will remain valid in parallel
- VAT payments and employer contributions can be paid using either reference
- No action is required from our customers at this time
Reduced VAT Rate Changes as of 1 January 2026
As of the beginning of 2026, the reduced VAT rate will decrease from 14% to 13.5%.
The change applies to goods and services subject to the reduced VAT rate.
The change applies, among others, to the following goods and services:
- foodstuffs and animal feed
- restaurant and catering services (excluding alcohol)
- accommodation services (hotels, hostels, holiday cottages)
- passenger transport services
- medicines
- sports and exercise services (e.g. gyms, swimming pools, use of sports facilities)
- cultural and entertainment services (e.g. theatres, cinemas, concerts, museums)
- sale of books (printed and electronic)
Please note:
- The new VAT rate applies to sales taking place on or after 1 January 2026
- Companies must update pricing, invoicing and system settings to reflect the change
Financial Statement Season 2026
Approximately 95% of our customers’ financial years end on 31 December, which means that during early 2026 and the spring we will be preparing a significant number of financial statements and tax returns for our customer companies.
We kindly ask our customers for:
- patience regarding the completion of financial statements
- financial statements are completed daily, and we will deliver finalized financial statement materials to customers by email
🔔 Reminder:
The Digibalance App (for Automaattitilit / AutoAccount customers) will prompt you to complete the financial statement supplementary information by 15 January.
More information on completing the financial statement questionnaire can be found in the app instructions at:

Our financial statement questionnaire includes a separate question for limited companies regarding:
- submission of a signed financial statement document to the PRH
If you wish, we can take care of the entire process and submit all required filings on your behalf as part of the financial statement process.
